Golfers raise money for Warrick Co. Special Olympians

WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -

It was a nice day to take a swing at golf balls and hope it stays on the fairway.

About 50 golfers took part in the first annual Warrick County Special Olympics Golf Scramble.

The goal was to raise $4,000 for the athletes' year-round training and competition.

"It's very important to bring awareness to the Special Olympics in Warrick County. The athletes all year long are training hard, going to competition. For us to raise funds for them to compete, it's the least we can do," said Kevin Mosbey, a member of Warrick County Special Olympics' Board of Directors.

The Special Olympians compete in all kinds of events, everything from track and field to horseshoe pitching.
