EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A mistrial declared today in an Evansville murder case.

Michael Lane Jr. is facing murder and attempted murder charges in the January 2010 shootings that killed Michael Hooper and hurt two others.

The prosecutor's office says two jurors had to be dismissed in the case.

Officials say they have to set a new trial date for October 8th at 8:00 a.m.

Authorities say Lane was on the run for 19 months when police in Chicago arrested him following a traffic stop.

He was later extradited back to Evansville.

Police say the shooting was a result of a fight that broke out during a drug deal.
