VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Chairman of Vanderburgh County's Republican Party announced Gary Gulledge will run as the Republican Candidate for Coroner.

Gulledge is recently retired after 23 years as a law enforcement officer.

"I've actually done this. I've actually been handed materials and items of evidence from an autopsy, from a body, to me and maintained control over that. I've actually maintained crime scene integrity at a scene," Gulledge said.

Gulledge will face incumbent Coroner Annie Groves in November.
