CORE working to get merger question removed from ballot

Citizens opposed to reorganization are trying to get the merger question removed from the November ballot.

Thursday morning the group known as CORE is expected to go to the Vanderburgh County Clerk's Office to challenge the petition used to get the referendum on the ballot.
Among the claims, the petition included misleading language and does not contain the minimum number of valid signatures.
The clerk, Susan Kirk, says the election board will review the challenge and decide if the board can make a ruling or if the action will go to court.
