Henderson County traffic alert

Posted: Updated:
HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -

A traffic alert for residents who live in Henderson County.

Road work gets underway today and crews need the help of residents to get the job done.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is going to be doing some milling and paving in parts of Henderson County.

These areas include parts of Kentucky 351 and 2nd St.

Crews are asking residents to not park on the street in the area from the 400 block of 2nd St. through the 1000 block of 2nd St. to allow them room to do their work.

The first phase of the project will begin Wednesday evening at 6 and the milling portion should be completed by 6 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say they're trying to do all the work at night to avoid disrupting daytime traffic. They say about 12,000 vehicles travel this section a day so if you can avoid the area or at least not park there, it'd be a big help

The second phase of the project gets underway on Monday the 6th at 6 p.m.

Just like phase one, residents are not allowed to park in this section until 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning. If you can avoid parking in the area to help these crews out.
