OHIO CO., KY (WFIE) -
We have an update to the complaints we received on our 14 News Facebook page about a person going door to door selling books in Ohio County.
Blaire Parker is a 22-year old from Texas, and in the summer, she works for Southwestern Advantage going from door to door selling educational books.
"It definitely takes you out of your comfort zone. I start on a road just at random. I draw out my little maps. You're going to run into people that aren't very receptive," Parker said. "I've dealt with more stuff in one summer because of this job and I've been in more problems and had to work through it."
After hearing about a story that aired on 14 News on Friday about a door to door salesman, Blaire took quick action and went to local law enforcement to explain what company she's with and what she's selling in Ohio County.
"A lot of families have heard about this program because it's been around forever. I was just up at the board of education to make sure everything was good," Parker said.
"When somebody comes to our county, we do a little research ourselves and make sure the information they give us is correct," said Ohio County Sheriff David Thompson.
Sheriff David Thompson does recommend giving local law enforcement a call if you do have concerns about someone going door to door in your neighborhood.
Blaire says she'll be in Ohio County for a couple more weeks, working the Hartford area.
