TRI-STATE (WFIE) -
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict northbound traffic to one lane on the US 41 twin bridges starting Monday morning.
Deck cleaning and maintenance work is the reason for the closure.
Work is being done for the next few days, but at different times.
Drivers should expect one lane traffic on the northbound bridge starting at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday until 3 in the afternoon both days.
Also, drivers will encounter one lane traffic on the southbound bridge starting at 7 p.m. tonight.
That work will continue overnight and be removed by 6 a.m. That's for both Monday and Tuesday as well.
Both closures are for deck cleaning.
A reminder from transportation officials, these bridges carry almost 40,000 vehicles each day.
Even though the lane closures are scheduled when traffic is light, these bridges see plenty of traffic even when it isn't rush hour.
Motorists should slow down and be alert for merging traffic.
You should also be careful where equipment and maintenance personnel will be working.
