TROY, IN (WFIE) -

New information in a Spencer County murder for hire case.

Jane Kleaving, 52, was found guilty Wednesday on one count of conspiracy to commit murder. She was found not guilty of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

State police say the former Tell City teacher met an undercover officer at a Spencer County park, thinking he was a hit man.

They say Kleaving couldn't pay the whole fee, so she offered to stage a burglary at her home, and make an insurance claim.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Kleaving thought the man she wanted to have killed was sexually abusing a relative.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 22nd.
