It's not too late to try your luck with a duck

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The annual "Ducks on the Ohio" duck race is about a week away. Enough time for you to adopt a duck.

The race benefits the Goodwill Family Center.

There have been over 14,000 adopted ducks in the race in the past.

Each duck is tagged so it has it's own identity.

They're placed on a barge in the Ohio River before being set free and then there is a large tube at the end of the race course that is big enough for just one duck at a time.

That lucky duck and it's lucky owner win a prize.

Again, all the proceeds benefit the Goodwill Family Center.

The center provides housing, child care and employment assistance to homeless families.

Ducks are $5 each.

The "Ducks on the Ohio" duck race takes place August 4 on the riverfront.
