Today, July 25, is back to school day for Lincoln School students in Evansville.
EVSC officials say students from kindergarten through 8th grade will begin their school year this morning.
Lincoln is the first EVSC school to start their school year.
Delaware Elementary and Glenwood Leadership Academy go back to school August 2, followed by Evans Elementary School August 6.
McGary Middle School begins classes on August 14.
Other EVSC schools are on regular calendars and classes begin on August 15.
EVSC officials say they have had their hands full preparing for the start of classes, and there is still cosmetic work to be done at several schools such as replacing carpets and painting.
With school just around the corner for Evansville kids, school officials have a couple of reminders for parents.
"If you haven't enrolled your student yet, please do so. it's very important to that before the first day of school. The second thing is, for drivers around town, please slow down, schools are getting back in session and kids often get excited and don't pay attention, so we want everybody to slow down," says Marsha Jackson, Chief Communications Officer for EVSC.
