LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Metro police are still trying to figure out who killed a teenager on a TARC bus.

The shooting happened Monday, at Bardstown Road and Goldsmith Lane, around 3 p.m. on bus number 2008.

The victim has been identified as Rico Robinson Jr., 17. Robinson's friends hope the pictures police released Monday night will lead to an arrest.

SeVoy McAfee has been neighbors and friends with Robinson for four years. "It's very devastating," said McAfee. "To know someone my age to be murdered like that."

McAfee was stunned when our WAVE 3 crew told him that his friend died in Monday's TARC bus shooting. "It's really crazy that someone can run on a TARC and murder somebody in broad daylight in front of all those people," said McAfee.

The coroner said Robinson died from a single gun shot wound to the head.

Police are looking for three people who they said fled the scene. The two men and a woman were captured on the bus camera, they are shown exiting the bus and getting in a white Chevrolet Camero. The woman was wearing a pink and black shirt. One of the two men was wearing a black t-shirt that said "Just do it." The other was in a white t-shirt.

Metro police have been looking at surveillance video from the Quality Inn, which sits right next to the crime scene.

One TARC bus rider told WAVE 3 he is worried about his safety getting back on a bus.

"Its kinda scary," said rider Adam Downs. "You can have anybody can come on my bus with a gun, it's seems like now. Other than that, I fear more for my sons life."

As many unanswered questions remain Robinson's friends hope the pictures will bring some conclusion as to why Robinson was murdered.

"Send my prayers out to his family and hope lil bruh rests easy," said McAfee.

TARC issued a statement Tuesday that stated, "The safety of passengers and drivers is TARC's highest priority and what occurred yesterday is intolerable.  Working with police, we will review the safety and security procedures relating to this violent act. TARC continually reviews and addresses safety and security issues to assure our buses provide safe transportation to the public."
