One killed, two injured in single car crash in Hopkins Co.

We now know the identities of those involved in the accident Tuesday morning that killed one person.

25-year-old Germain Rojas, the driver; 23-year-old Santiago Ocadiz and 34-year-old Salvador Alvarez, all from Knoxville, TN.

The crash happened just before 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning near the US 62 exit.

Police say the crash was the result of a blown tire. Kentucky State Police say Rojas over-corrected, ran into a guardrail, then the car flipped.

 

Authorities say Alvarez was pronounced dead at the scene. Rojas and Ocadiz are being treated for their injuries at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

The northbound lanes of the Parkway were closed for nearly three hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
