University of Evansville opens it's doors to prospective students

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

This is "Indiana Private College Week" according to Governor Mitch Daniels and the University of Evansville will participate by opening its doors to prospective students and their families.

This week, UE will offer daily campus tours and admission presentations and it isn't too late to sign up.

The tours take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day, with presentations to follow.

The governor's signed proclamation for this week cites the productivity of Indiana's higher education.

While enrolling only 20 percent of the state's undergrads, private campuses produce 35 percent of its bachelor's degrees, as well as graduate the majority of their students within four years.

Also cited is the role the private campuses play in the advancement of Indiana, through high-quality education and also economic and cultural contributions to communities throughout the state.
