EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The Evansville City Council voted to remove the salary increases for ten select city employees.

Ten employees had been recommended for pay increases based on changing workload, titles, and comparisons to other cities.

The feeling among the majority of council members was not to have mid-year increases for select workers, calling it unfair to other city employees.

The council did agree raises should be considered in the next budget or after the vote on city-council consolidation.
