VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

About 20 different people and groups showed off their baking and decorating skills at the first ever Battle of the Cupcakes at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Fair.

Kids all the way up to professionals participated in different categories.

Some of the themes included farm life, the Olympics, and Evansville's Bicentennial.

14 News' Erin Meyer got to get in on the fun, and did some of the judging.

"So they're being judged on creativity of their design, also their flavors of their design, how their cupcake goes with the icing. The whole, total package," said Susan Plassmeier, the Battle of the Cupcakes organizer.

Prizes were awarded for first, second and third place.

First place winners in each category took home $25 and of course, bragging rights.
