VANDERBURGH CO., IN -

The great American writer Mark Twain once said, "I was seldom able to see an opportunity until it had ceased to be one."

I think we've had that same experience a time or two, and we've probably regretted those chances that we missed or didn't take when they came our way.

Citizens of Vanderburgh County and Evansville have a unique opportunity this year to take an important step for our children and future generations. We will have the chance to unify our city and county governments by voting "Yes" on the plan for reorganization. This opportunity is rare, and one we don't want to miss. It's our chance to make our home an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.

Between now and election day on November 6th, you are going to hear a lot about the referendum. If you're watching me right now, you've also heard from opponents to the plan for reorganization. Their arguments are certainly spirited, but they rely on misinformation and pessimism. Unfortunately, they are making a case that will hold us back.

In the months ahead, we'll make a positive case for reorganization based on economic growth, job creation and sustaining our quality of life. We'll seize this opportunity because it is about possibility, growth, and reaching for an even brighter future and if you share that same vision, please join us by voting Yes on the referendum.
