VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -
Election day is just three and a half months away, and on Monday, Indiana Secretary of State, Connie Lawson, Vanderburgh County Clerk Susan Kirk, and Mayor Lloyd Winnecke are reminding people how important it is to vote.
They say there will be 23 voting centers set up around the county, and now, there's a new app for your iPhone, that will tell you where the closest voting center is and the wait time.
They're hoping that voter turnout will be much better than it was in the primary.
"We're hoping that the presidential race, the gubernatorial race, the contests that are on the ballot, as well as the referendum that's here in Vanderburgh County will encourage people to turn out to vote. Two years ago there was a state representatives race here that was decided by three votes, so every vote does count," said Lawson.
The deadline to register to vote is October 9. Election day is November 6.
