Tickets are now on sale for the big air show in Owensboro.

In a couple weeks, planes will fill the sky over downtown Owensboro and English Park is one of the places you'll be able to see the show.

City leaders are planning a three day celebration to open Smothers Park.

A big part of that celebration is an air show over the Ohio River in downtown Owensboro on August 25th.

Now, the air show is free and you'll be able to see it in parts of Smothers Park and English Park where the boat ramp is, but the city is also offering tickets for $20 a piece that will guarantee you a spot in the Riverpark Center.

That way you can enjoy air conditioning, nice bathrooms, vendors, and of course a good view of the show.

"We weigh a lot of impact from the community say 'Hey, is there a chance that maybe we don't have to get there quite so early or maybe I don't have to fight the crowds so much. I don't necessarily want to bring down the chairs and the blankets. You know is there an opportunity for that?'" said Public Event Director Tim Ross.

You can get those tickets either at the Riverpark Center or Independence Bank locations in Owensboro.
