EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Major clean-up is needed at north high school. The storm overnight caused a lot of damage.

The bleachers a tangled mess of metal, having been picked up and thrown to the other side of the North High School tennis courts.

Other damages include snapped light poles, overturned porta potties, and mangled fences.

The tennis courts are now in need of repair and the schools' band trailer maybe totaled. It was turned over with an ATV and band carts inside.

"We've never had anything like this happen before, so it must have been quite a wind. There's quite a bit of structural damage out here as far as light poles and bleachers. There's some bleachers that were bolted to the ground they were blown over a baseball field," said Assistant Band Director Jane Bernhardt.

EVSC Spokesperson Marsha Jackson says the school is now working to get an estimate on the damages. The good news is, Jackson says, it is all covered under insurance.
