Excessive Heat, Slight Risk for Storms

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Excessive Heat Warning

Another very hot day with highs near 100 and heat index values of 105-110.  An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for much of the tri-state with a Heat Advisory covering the rest of the area.  A cold front will slowly move our way late today with an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms.  The Storm Prediction Center has the entire tri-state under a Slight Risk for severe weather, with damaging winds and large hail the primary threat.  Chad Sewich will have details in the forecast.

Indiana Water Shortage

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources issues a water shortage warning in all 92 Hoosier counties.

Warrick County Fair

The Warrick County Fair is underway in Boonville this week. Emily is there live with the sights, sounds, and maybe even smells.   We'll also see if she does any hog wrestling.

Kentucky Bike Rally

It's that time of year again as the Kentucky Bike Rally will bring thousands to the Union County Fairgrounds.  Brett Hoffland will have details from the Western Kentucky Newsroom.

"Hairspray" Tickets

Chad will also give away free tickets to the Warrick Education Foundation's Summer Musical "Hairspray" set for tonight through this weekend in the auditorium at Castle High School.

So try and stay cool, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
