Fifty percent sewage rate hike expected to pass

PRINCETON, IN (AP) -

The Princeton City Council is expected to vote, tonight, on a nearly 52-percent sewer rate increase.

Under the proposal the average household using five thousand gallons of water a month will see their bill go from 30 to 45 dollars.

Council members also considered another option that would raise rates by 58% and put extra money into the general fund, but they voted that option down.

The newest proposal is expected to pass.
