VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville man has been arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated on the Ohio River and for being in possession of marijuana.

Indiana Conservation Officers say they were patrolling the Ohio River on Saturday evening near the Dogtown Boat Ramp when they noticed 25-year-old Benjamin L. Macke making several unsuccessful attempts to motor the boat onto the trailer and then was finally able to trailer the watercraft.

Suspecting impairment, officers say they confronted Macke and two other passengers before they could drive away.

The investigation and field sobriety test produced a small amount of marijuana under 30 grams and suspected driver impairment.

Macke was placed into custody and transported to the Vanderburgh County Security Center where he tested .18 BAC.
