Police say a 7-year-old boy is critically injured, after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Indianapolis. The boy was hit about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday on the city's south side. A police spokesman says
Officers were told that the boy was trying to cross the busy two-lane street when he was hit.

A fire is burning in Wood County which one onlooker described as "massive."

An oil tank battery is burning on County 3824, just off of FM 14. That's between FM 2869 and FM 49. The area is known as Willful Crossing.

Three departments have responded to the fire, and report that a fence to a wooded area had to be knocked down to get to the fire. No structures are threatened at this time.

The Wood County Fire Marshal says firefighters are letting the fire burn, because they do not want to flood the oil out of the battery and potentially contaminate nearby creeks.
