EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
St. Mary's Market Days start this morning.
Market Days is held in the St. Mary's parking lot just off Washington Ave. in Evansville.
The medical center hosts the farmers market every Thursday morning through the fall, but this year there are some new features.
Parking, fresh locally grown produce, homemade bread, jewelry, non-traditional farmers market items and new this year: Yoga, Zumba and Tai Chi classes on the lawn-open to anyone.
Organizers say you don't have to be an expert, they encourage beginners to come.
They say these programs can be very beneficial to your mental and physical health.
St. Mary's Women's Wellness Center Coordinator Helen Emge Shymanski said, "All of us recognize that healthcare system is under a process of change and healthcare is looking for changes to support people's health and wellness also, not just fixing disease. St. Mary's is on the forefront of making those opportunities available to the public here in Evansville and in the region."
The Yoga classes start at 8 every Thursday morning on the lawn at St. Mary's.
Market days starts at 8:30 in the parking lot.
They continue every Thursday until late fall.
