EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

More than 900 educators signed up to attend the 4th annual eRevolution Conference being put on by EVSC this week at North High School.

Thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Education, the EVSC was able to open the conference to educators throughout the region at no cost.

They say there are attendees from as far away as Florida and Texas.

At the conference, teachers can listen to keynote speakers and attend workshops about everything from Google apps to borrowing eBooks.

They can also visit the Technology Playground. It's an area set up for educators to experience different kinds of technology, with help from students.

"It's all hands on, all kinds of cool technology.  And we're really inviting educators to come in and kind of see and play with the technology, just get a sense of what it does," said Tim Wilhelmus, one of the organizers of the conference.

"The technology piece is part of it, but it's really just how do we take the digital age tools that we have and bring them into what we know are good models of teaching and learning."

The conference continues on Thursday.
