EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A dead body has been found near the 1100 block of Maxwell Avenue in Evansville. That is west of Fares Street in brush near the railroad tracks.

Police say it was a passerby who saw the body that has now been identified as 52 year old Edward Allen Rayborn of Southern Illinois. Officers say due to the condition of Rayborn's body they couldn't find any obvious signs of trauma.

Rayborn's family has been notified and officials say that Rayborn was considered to be homeless. His last known address was a homeless shelter in Vincennes. Officials say on July 7th, police told him to go to a shelter, but he told them he was alright.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday.

Vanderburgh County Coroner Annie Groves says the heat could be a cause.
