ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A man was shot in the leg late Sunday as shots were fired during a fight outside of the Cascade Family Skating Center in Atlanta.
Off-duty officers said two large groups were fighting and shots were fired.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to South Fulton Hospital by private party prior to units arriving.
The man told police that he was at the skating rink, but was at the Texaco waiting on someone when he was shot. Another victim had damage to their vehicle from the gunshots.
Police said the two groups may have been in gangs. The group from College Park Riverdale was with the "Flex Squad" and the other the "Fam."
Eight people were detained by police and one weapon was found.
Two people were arrested and had minor injuries conducive with being in a fight.
Demarious Dansey, 21, was charged with carrying a pistol without a license, disorderly conduct, battery, reckless conduct and criminal trespass.
Todd Xavier, 22, was charged with disorderly conduct, battery & party to a crime.
Investigators have not said what started the fight or if they are looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
