EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Clean Evansville will be celebrating it's six month milestone by picking up litter around the Glenwood neighborhood Saturday morning.

Several groups including the Neighborhood Association and the Youth from Caldwell Homes YMCA, will join the Clean Evansville volunteers.

The Glenwood Neighborhood Association says it has already had two clean-ups this year, and accepted the invitation from Mayor Lloyd Winnecke for the July Clean Evansville event.

"The most important thing is for people to become aware of litter around them. If they just pick up three or four pieces a day, wherever they are, around the office, around their neighborhood, that's the whole goal. Raise awareness," said Mayor Winnecke.

The event begins Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.
