Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is encouraging residents to voluntarily conserve water because of the drought conditions.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is asking 32 Indiana counties, including Vanderburgh, to reduce water consumption by 10-15%.

Water officials say they are keeping up with the current demand but encouraging conservation whenever possible.

Conservation tips include not leaving water running while your brushing teeth and taking a short shower instead of a bath.

Don't use water to thaw frozen foods and only wash full loads of laundry.
