EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
Due to the burn bans, one of the only places you can see fireworks this Fourth of July is in Evansville.
The Fourth of July celebrations have already begun on the riverfront, and they've already seen quite a show here with mother nature.
When 14 News first got to Riverside Drive it was steamy and felt like one of the hottest days we've had. Vendors had fans set up and towels around their necks to keep cool.
At about 5:00 p.m., storms came through downtown Evansville, drastically dropping the temperature, and leaving vendors with a mess to clean up.
Usually at this time every year, there are crowds of people saving a seat for the fireworks. This year it's a little different with about a dozen people here for the show.
"We didn't want to fight the crowd in Louisville, so we decided to come this way this year," said an out of town visitor.
"We came anyway because it is something we do every year," fireworks visitor from English, Indiana.
"The rain seemed to cool things down a lot and I looked at the radar in Louisville and it's still at 105, so I think we made the right chance this year and came out here," another visitor said.
