A commercial building caught fire Tuesday afternoon in Troup.
According to authorities, Neckover Trailer Manufacturing caught fire at 938 S. Railroad Street.
An area resident says that Troup, Arp, and Concord fire departments responded to the scene, and that Highway 135 S. from Troup to Jacksonville is blocked off at this time.
The office manager with Neckover Trailer Mfg. has confirmed that the fire began in the paint booth at the business, and four people were inside the area when the fire started.
Smith County Assistant Fire Marshal Orin Hale says that there were workers inside the building doing remodeling work, and they cut connectors to work with conduit with wiring inside. This caused sparks, and with paint spray all around, a fire began to burn. The workers got out quickly, and none were injured.
