GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -

Gibson County residents shouldn't have any trouble heading out to work Tuesday morning.

Officials tell 14 News all roads that were closed due to storm damage should be back open, power lines restored and most debris should be cleared out of the roads.

Gibson County was hardest hit by severe storms Monday night. There were reports of several downed trees and power lines.

On Cross Street, in Francisco, a tree on a property was struck by lightning, splitting it right down the middle.

Jim Gray, the man in the picture and the property owner was inside his house when the lightning struck the tree.

He said it "sounded like an explosion", and told 14 News it knocked his wife's mirror off the wall.

The strike shot pieces of the tree, some 10 feet long, into a nearby house, breaking windows.

There were no reports of injuries.
