VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Vanderburgh County Commissioners say they plan to discuss the banning of fireworks in the county.

The commissioners say that they're concerned about firework use in the county, but banning them is under state control.

Commissioners say they will discuss the extreme weather conditions with EMA regarding banning fireworks at a meeting July 3rd at 5 p.m. in the Civic Center.

They say the public may attend and voice their opinions on the issue.

On Friday, the city of Evansville banned fireworks within the city for seven days.

We'll have more on this throughout the day.
