They are going door-to-door today to let people know about this rule.
Winslow, IN:
The town of Winslow has announced a mandatory water conservation declaration.
During this declaration, washing vehicles, washing outside surfaces, drive-ways, sidewalks, and exteriors, and 'sprinkling' lawns and shrubs are all prohibited.
Voluntary practices to conserve water should be used at all times.
They say, based on a public water shortage, this is a necessary measure.
The town of Winslow is reserving the right to limit or provide exemption for the maintenance of adequate health, safety and sanitary conditions.
West Daviess County Water District:
The West Daviess County Water District General Manager William Higdon and Judge Executive Al Mattingly have issued a water shortage declaration.
At this time, the West Daviess County Water District is requesting voluntary conservation of non-essential water use. That includes such measures as not using lawn and garden irrigation, filling swimming pools, and washing cars.
In-home water use should be conserved, and any water leaks should be repaired.
The West Daviess County Water District is requesting that if any irrigation is necessary, that it be done between 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
This declaration will remain in effect until water supplies and service conditions have returned to normal, at which time the declaration will be lifted.
Muhlenberg Co., KY
Due to the recent heat and drought conditions Muhlenberg County Officials are asking the citizens to voluntarily limit their water usage and refrain from all non essential water use.
Examples of these non essential uses are watering lawns and gardens, car washing, filling swimming pools, etc. This precautionary request is to help preserve water and to keep water sources used at a minimum so that we can conserve and more drastic measures do not have to be implemented.
County Water Officials are doing everything possible including tie-ins with other counties to keep out water output at its maximum, but with current drought conditions and lower river and lake levels it is difficult to keep up with the demands of water use.
Officials are asking all citizens of Muhlenberg County to help this situation by conserving water and being good stewards of our precious resource. This situation will be closely monitored for your protection.
