VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's office answered the call, Friday morning, of a plane crash in a cornfield.

It happened in a cornfield south of Mill road between Kratzville and Big 10 Blvd.

Authorities don't know what caused the crash, but they have loaded the ultralight plane craft onto a trailer awaiting FAA investigation.

The FAA should be on the scene later this afternoon.

Authorities say that the pilot was taken to Deaconess hospital.

No word on his condition.
