HENDERSON CO, KY (WFIE) -
A Henderson woman is in jail, charged in a morning bank robbery.
Meiesha Sharp, 23, was arrested not far from the Fifth Third Bank she's accused of robbing on south Green, but detectives say Sharp might also be responsible for another robbery earlier this month.
According to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Sharp told detectives Friday, she was also responsible for the armed robbery at Hayes Oil in Henderson on June 19th.
Henderson Police say around 9:30 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the Fifth Third Bank on south Green street for an armed robbery.
HPD says witnesses saw Sharp running from the area where police found her on Yeaman avenue, and recovered over $500.
"Ms. Sharp entered the bank brandishing a weapon, an automatic pistol. She then crossed over the counter, began demanding money, put money into a bag, got away. We were very fortunate we had officers close-by to the bank," said HPD Officer Jennifer Richmond.
Officials say Sharp faces a charge of first degree robbery and the investigation is on-going.
Sharp is also being charged in connection with two other robbery cases. One, that occurred at Kangaroo Express in Henderson on June 25, and another that occurred at the Fifth Third Bank ATM on south Green Street on June 15.
