DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) -

Daviess County's River of Music Party is starting early this year with a free concert.

ROMP, an outdoor bluegrass music festival normally begins on Thursday and lasts through Saturday at Yellow Creek Park, but this year, you can come to the park at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday for a free concert by the Giving Tree Band. You will have to leave by midnight though, so organizers can get set up for Thursday.

Also new to ROMP this year is a kids area with storytelling and puppet shows.

"We want to give something back to the community because they have supported the museum and they've also supported the festival and we just want to bring people out there. Get a taste. Get an idea of what ROMP is all about and then hopefully come back on Thursday, Friday and Saturday," said Danny Clark with the International Bluegrass Museum.

Monday is the last day to get advanced pre-sale tickets. Click here to get those tickets. After Monday, tickets can only be bought at the door.
