HENDERSON CO, KY (WFIE) -

Kentucky State Police arrested one man Saturday, for allegedly shooting another man in Henderson.

Henderson Police say 27-year-old Michael Brown was arrested, accused of shooting 33-year-old William Spainhoward.

That shooting happened in the 300 block of Herron Avenue at about 11:15 a.m., and one witness says a young child was there to see what happened.

14 News spoke to Spainhoward's mother, Sherrie Rose Saturday, and she says Spainhoward is the boyfriend of Brown's ex-wife.

She says Spainhoward and Brown were involved in a dispute over custody of Brown's child, and that argument is what lead to the shooting.

Sherrie says Brown shot William in the leg and then drove away. Police say they later arrested Brown in Morganfield and charged him with first-degree assault.

They say this investigation is on-going.

Police say Spainhoward was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
