OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

A western Kentucky business gets a big boost through a loan program. That program is helping more mom and pop shops grow and expand their business across the Tri-State.

"Brown's Valley's a full truck equipment house. We do everything from body installation to repairs to trucks and trailers," said Owner of Brown Valley Trucking Tina Winston.

Winston is giving her place a total makeover, but this facelift will impact more than her business.

"We are revamping the building and that's going to lead to a showroom which will lead to more business for us that will lead to more employment," Winston said.

Thanks to GRADD's Revolving Loan Program, other small businesses in western Kentucky can get a low interest loan to help grow and add employees.

"It can't do anything but help the local economy," Winston said.

Economic Director Joanna Shake says when more small businesses that have an opportunity to expand, the better.

"For every $10,000 we lend, one job is created, so even though job creation may appear to be small maybe four to five jobs but when you multiply that over several loans there's a significant impact," Shake told 14 News.

Owners at Brown Valley say they already have big plans over the next two years.

"We're looking at adding another 60-120 to the shop," said co-owner Jason Frazier.
