BOONVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A Boonville man says he hopes to strike it rich with a new invention.

Robert Hepner, also known as Tattoo Bob has been a tattoo artist for decades and owns Skin Illusion Tattoo in Boonville.

His invention, 'stencil bond', is a sealant that keeps tattoo stencils in place, while tattoo artists trace over it.

Hepner says he invented 'synthetic skin' back in 1996, for aspiring tattoo artists to practice on, and he says he didn't get paid as much as he felt he should have for that product.

Now, he says he has been contacted by tattoo product retailers who want to buy his new product.

"This time around, I'm not going to let it slip through like I did with the synthetic skin. This time around, I'm going to go ahead and get paid for my idea. I got an offer for $2 million from one company, straight up $2 million, and I turned it down, because basically, I already know, this thing is going to revolutionize the market we're in today," Hepner told 14 News.

Tattoo Bob says, so far, the offers he has received have come form companies overseas.
