HENDERSON CO, KY (WFIE) -

Work is switching to the westbound lanes of the Highway 60 overpass in Henderson Friday night.

Henderson Police say as long as drivers pay attention to marked detours and use intersections with stoplights, everything should go smoothly.

Eastbound work on the US 60 cloverleaf is now finished, and Henderson Police say no accidents happened as a result of that road-work.

This weekend, work will start on the westbound lane. Drivers will see detours including one along Marywood Drive to Highway 41 and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says traffic from Owensboro to downtown Henderson should use the Audubon Parkway.

"Just keep a close eye on these intersections again, where they are being rerouted. Make sure people are going with the lights. And our big thing is, if you take Barrett Boulevard, don't turn left to go South onto 41. There is no light there. It is a very busy area, it's very congested. And we think it's much safer for you to go somewhere where we have a traffic light," said HPD PIO Jennifer Richmond.

Again, the US 60 westbound lane will close Friday night at 7:00 p.m. KYTC says the work should be complete by July 2nd.
