HAUBSTADT, IN (WFIE) -
The 46th annual Sommerfest kicks off later today in Haubstadt.
Organizers say they're expecting close to 15,000 people over the next three days, as long as the weather cooperates.
Things get underway tonight at 6. That's when the rides, food booths and the Bierstube all open up.
It's all happening around Haubstadt Park.
Set up was happening earlier this week, took a lot of work to get everything ready, but it's a cause that raises a lot of money.
Organizers say all of the dollars raised over the next three days will go right back to the Haubstadt community.
They say that money has done some pretty amazing things for the area over the years.
A few examples, last year $50,000 went toward a new library. In 2010, a new $91,000 youth soccer complex was built on the east side of town.
Local businesses like Dewig's and Sandy's Pizza get involved.
A very popular part of Sommerfest is the Bierstube, that's open until midnight all three nights.
There's also live music, a talent show Friday night and a 5k run Saturday morning.
