The top golfers, on the Nationwide Tour will face a course that will challenge every facet of their game. Hole #5 of Victoria National Golf Club will not be easy.
With little room for error off the tee, hole #5 is the course's first par 3 at a distance of 212 yards.
"This green, pretty big target. But again, a long iron approach. Two tiers, there's the lower tier where the pin is accessible. When it gets on the top tier, it's something that the guys will be a little conservative with," said club pro David Von Hoffman.
There is plenty of trouble on hole #5. A water hazard, followed by thick brush, and greenside bunkers will make decent lies tough to come by. Hoffman says players will want to keep the ball in front of the green.
"When the pin is on the top tier, it's a little harder. You gotta be careful. If the ball gets over the back of the green, it will be a very difficult shot," Hoffman said.
With near perfect tee shots a must here, hole #5 may become a turning point in this tournament.
