Daniels future looks to be at Purdue

Posted: Updated:
Indianapolis (WFIE) - -

Several news sources are now reporting Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be the next President of Purdue University.

A report from the Indianapolis Star says two sources close to Daniels confirm the news.

Purdue's Board of Trustees will meet Thursday morning to vote on the candidate for president.

Mitch Daniels' second term as Indiana Governor ends in January. He'd be Purdue University's 12th President, succeeding current president, France Cordova. The university says her accomplishments include, raising Purdue's reputation and research profile, and leading efforts to make Purdue affordable.

Cordova's last day in office is July 15th.

There will be a live webcast of Thursday's vote and announcement of the new president through Purdue's website.
