Cooling centers set up in Illinois

ILLINOIS (WFIE) -

With hot weather being forecasted for much of the tri-state, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced on Monday that services will be available throughout the state to protect people from the heat.

The state has opened more than 120 cooling centers including ones in White, Wabash, and Saline counties.

  • White County, Carmi- 1112 Oak St.
  • Wabash County, Mt. Carmel- 229 W. 2nd St.
  • Saline County, Harrisburg- 320 E. Raymond St. 

The governor also encourages residents to check on family members and neighbors who are vulnerable to hot weather, including the elderly and children.
