OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

Organizers in Owensboro are calling the city's inaugural Bourbon and Jazz Festival a huge success.

The festival held this weekend drew a large crowd from all over the United States.

The Owensboro Visitor's and Convention Bureau will now have a permanent bourbon history display at its downtown office.

Organizers say next year's fest will be held on a different date with more event and more music.

"One of the greatest things for us is we had the director of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail come down. He was very impressed with everything that's been going on here. So you never know, we may just get on the bourbon trail soon, you just don't know that," said Karen Miller with the CVB.

Recently Owensboro was asked to be a part of Bourbon Country, a marketing campaign highlighting areas of bourbon history.
