Man killed in motorcycle accident identified

LOUISIVLLE, KY (WAVE) - A motorcycle accident in the 3600 block of Taylor Boulevard near Beecher Street left one man dead.

The Jeffson County Coroner's Office said 37-year-old Romontre Mitchell, of Louisville, died of multiple blunt force injuries.

According to MetroSafe, the accident occurred at 3:50 Monday afternoon.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the motorcycle and a cab were both traveling north on Taylor Blvd. when they collided.

Dwight said Romontre, who was driving the motorcycle, died at the scene. He said it appears Romontre was not wearing a helmet.

Dwight said no charges have been filed in this case.

He asked anyone with information to call police at 574-LMPD.
