LIMA, Ohio (AP) -

Police in northwest Ohio say a woman who suddenly drove her car into a crowded town square while bystanders attended a weekly community event is cooperating with authorities.

Hospital officials in northwest Ohio say up to 30 people were injured when a woman suddenly drove her car into a crowded town square.

Lima Police Detective Steve Stechschulte said the 63-year-old woman was not hurt in the Friday night crash that injured about 30 people. Police are not identifying her.

Stechschulte says she has been released pending further investigation.

A spokeswoman for St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima says 28 to 30 people were treated for various injures Friday night. All but four have been released. No one was killed.

Police say the woman's car plowed through the crowd, sending some through the air and pinning others under the vehicle. Authorities and witnesses say bystanders helped lift it.

Police say some victims suffered serious injuries to legs, heads and necks.

Police are still investigating.
