RUSSELL COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – A Jamestown woman who disappeared while jogging Thursday morning and later was found dead in a ravine was strangled, according to Russell County Police.

Christopher W. Allman, 28, of Jamestown is charged with murder, kidnapping, first degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence in the death of Sarah Hart, 31.

Investigators said Hart had been jogging with her sister around 6:30 a.m. EST Thursday on US 0127 between Jamestown and Russell Springs. Hart told her sister she was not feeling well, so she stopped running and turned around. Hart's sister later went back to check on Hart, but could not find her. That's when police were called and a search began.

Hart's body was discovered at 12:14 p.m. Thursday off US 0127 in a ravine with high weeds. Police said Allman admitted attacking and killing Hart for the purpose of taking her money and then placing her body underneath some bushes.
