EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
The Evansville Police Department was questioning a suspect about a theft, when he took off on his scooter and led them on a bit of a chase.
It started Friday morning around Third and Michigan near Downtown Evansville.
When the detective tried to take him into custody he attempted to flee, and in doing so, drug the officer several yards.
The scooter went north and then south on the greenway, with officers following close behind.
The chase may have gotten up to speeds of 40 miles per hour.
He ended up crashing on Ohio street; wiping out on the Pigeon Creek bridge. He was taken to a hospital to look at some minor injuries.
Authorities say Logan Lerche will be arrested on two charges: Misdemeanor resisting arrest and Felony battery of a police officer.
